Digital Marketing Strategist

Exagen is a patient-focused and discovery-driven life sciences company dedicated to transforming the care continuum for patients suffering from debilitating and chronic autoimmune diseases. Our goal is to enable rheumatologists to improve care for patients through the differential diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of complex autoimmune and autoimmune-related diseases, including lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. By leveraging our proprietary Cell-Bound Complement Activation Products, or CB-CAPs, technology, we help get to the real cause of a patient s symptoms and guide their journey to improved health.

About the Opportunity

The Exagen Marketing team is seeking to add a strategic, innovative, and analytic mind to work collaboratively with key stakeholders on digital marketing, communications, and campaign development. The Digital Marketing Strategist will develop, lead, and oversee the execution of B2B and B2C marketing campaigns. These activities include content creation, managing online marketing (SEO, SEM, and more), develop digital and email campaigns, run online webinars, execute content marketing programs, and other demand generation initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for creating dashboards, reporting, and regularly measuring marketing analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Understand digital marketing platforms, channels, and data sources, guiding how to best use data and technology to drive sales and marketing to deliver incremental growth
  • Drive content for marketing activities including content campaigns, emails, landing pages, virtual events, webinars, etc.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns from beginning to end through plan development, targeting, setup, implementation, and reporting/analysis
  • Outline customer journeys to build nurture campaigns, delivering the right content to the right audiences
  • Design digital media campaigns aligned with company goals, while ensuring brand consistency
  • Develop reporting and analysis to understand what s working and consistently be improving performance, share learnings, and best practices
  • Create SEO-friendly content including web pages, press releases, and ad copy
  • Help manage social campaign metrics, reporting, and performance insight tracking
  • Manage budget, goals, and schedule of all paid search for multiple portfolios
  • Work closely with creative and marketing to improve the online experience
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and project manage outsourced work to ensure efficient and effective use of external resources
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in digital marketing and/or agency experience
  • Strong experience with marketing and sales CRMs
  • Working knowledge of visualization tools, preferably Tableau
  • Familiarity with effective digital ad copy
  • Ability to generate powerful, SEO-friendly, conversion-optimized campaigns
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices and benchmarking
  • Experience with A/B testing and multivariate experiments
  • Demonstrable experience of moving prospects through all stages of the marketing funnel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare, bioscience, or life sciences background preferred
  • Strong understanding of Technical SEO (ie: website architecture, high-quality relevant link-building, spam referral filtering)
  • Experience supporting and guiding sales teams on prioritized and qualified leads
  • Basic HTML/CSS skills for both email and web preferred
